As mentioned below, Lea Heinrich and I heve done tons of drawings for the stage design of the upcoming JT-production "SUPERHERO", directed by the fabulous Katharina Brankatschk . The Premiere will be on 19th of January and we are glad that our part of work is done so far. Most of the pictures will be shown by a large video-projection on the stage-background. Theese three black&white-ones will be integrated the oldschool way via overhead-projector. I'll post some more material on this blog soon...

I had the honour to make the coverart for the new VELES-INC.-record. Its called "Schutt & Stein" and its full of 10 awesome tracks of my dear friend Dane Ivanovski. This time he recorded all the instruments by himself at his new headquarter in Schaffhausen. I silkscreened a first edition of 35 copies with 2 colours on nice sctetchbookpaper. As mentioned further "down" this blog, i did the cover-illustration for the first issue of the NEUWERK magazine. Its an special "Rubbel-Cover" on a classy silver-printed paper. On the website of the magazine you can see how the illustration can be discovered by scratchin the "water" away. For the Headlines inside the book my illu-mates Tobias, Hannes, Alexander, Tim and Ines created awesome font-illustrations. Thanks to the Editorial-Desingers Konrad and Andre for inviting me to this project! Great Job!

Protest-Workshop

Last week i participated in a 2-day-workshop at the Design-conference "Werktage" that took place at our University in Halle. The topic was "protest". It was iniciated by the members of NEPOMUK, a group of three illustrators and designers streight outa berlin weißensee. Yo... The result: a set of 25 postcards, all printed in 2 seperated colors on a copymachine. I only finished one (1) card (guess whichone!). Me lazy bastard...

Yes we did it! I'm glad to announce that the new "213"magazine is finished and i'm part of it! Here you can see some example-doublepages. Its a two-(seperated)-color-offset-print of ca. 600 copies and you can get it for only 12 (!!) euros. Its really worth every single penny!

On the anual exhibition of the artschool in Halle the magazine was everywhere. Even ancient communication-stations were taken over...

3 acrylic-on-paper-pictures i did as a test for the "favouritesong"project in halle. more like a mood-board. its like going back to my edding-roots without edding. each picture must be 30,5 x 24 cm and so its quite a challenge for me. we have to do one drawing/painting each day. i dont know... maybe i will change "my song" and try some aereogramme-stuff. here you can watch the song, beeing performed by gravenhurst live. even when it may appear a bit conventional compared to some other artymusicstuff... i love this song, so...

Some weeks ago i finally finished the german version of Sofia. My portuguese friend Hugo Dunkel helped me very patiently with the translation that ended up to be a bit more "free" than i expected. but it fits good to the pictures and i love the paper. thanks to the guys at rotopol. without their offer to publish the book i wouldn't have finished it so "fast"...

Last Holy-Friday the "BÄÄÄÄÄM" took place at the GALERIE LOYAL Kassel and i am glad that we took some fotos of our cardboardheads right before the event startet. I dont know if they are still alive and what happened with them. What i know is, that everyone was quite excited about them and that they made us very proud. Thank you, confused cardboardbox-guys! Thank you, Lea and Leo for making this happen!

This year started with loads of musicstuff. My good friend Dane Ivanovski and I finished our (2007 started) recording-project that is called as this blog: HOLOB. We printed the cover in the silkscreenworkshop of the artschool and the new workshop-teacher Rudolf Ludowig helped us a lot with this. I also did some recordings with my goo dold 4-track-maschine in the beginning of 2008 and finally made a kind of EP out of it in a similar design like the holob-stuff. You can listen to some of the tracks of the 2 CDs on this myspace-site...

One of two short animated loops i did for a collaborationproject of the physics-department of the university kassel and the artschool. it was all about visualizing and illustrate topics of nano-science. we did several animations for some VJing on the "day of physics" at the university. my stuff was more about the ways of thinking yourself in more than one dimension.
